For anyone that's ever been affected by cancer, you probably understand that it's something you never would've imagined having to deal with.  As much as it hurts to admit, I never thought I would’ve had to experience it either.  You see, I just lost my mother to lung cancer; after finding out when she was already Stage 4.

Previous to that dreaded phone call, I thought life was "perfect".  It's amazing how your life can change in an instant.  Living in Florida at the time, I didn’t even know my mother was going to the doctor.  I honestly couldn't accept it, see it, hear about it or even be in the same room with "it". I couldn't be around it period.  The terrible part about my story and the reason that I'm speaking openly about it, is because I couldn’t deal with it.  When the cancer took my mother, I truly lost my own life on that terrible day. 

This is why the Cure for Cancer site was originally established and why it can hopefully make a difference in someone else's life.  There are way too many individuals suffering with cancer in today's world and it's really time to make a difference.  The one good thing that I did when it came to my mothers illness was to try and make one last wish come true for her.  Our local Channel 4 television station was able to document the gift which you can view below:
